Here are some pictures of one of the chicks emerging from the egg, eventually looking wet and exhausted! These photos were taken over an 8 hour period!

Well here SHE is! The Cream Legbar is an auto-sexing breed which means the male and female chicks are different colours. Being dark like this one means its a little girl.

When we woke up this morning this Cream Legbar egg had started "pipping". Pipping is when the chick has finally managed to break through the shell after tapping about a thousand times. You can just make out the little beak. He or she is already chirping. Should be several hours til they have fully hatched. tbc...

We have just candled our eggs to see how the incubation is going!
Here are two photos of the eggs, the dark spots are the embryos and the 'X's are just our pencil markings to show which eggs are fertilised!!!

We put our 19 fertilised eggs into our incubator today! we will keep you updated with their progress!
due date - 28th January!
